Altering the Altered
A few days ago I published a blog post featuring an altered coaster which I made into a wall hanging. For todays Bloggers Challenge which is also to alter something, I decided to alter the coaster wall hanging I had made (bottom panel). I took a second matching rectangular coaster, covered it with gesso and colored it using the Dylusions sprays to coordinate with the first. Taking it in the horizontal position, I stenciled the word Dream (Club Scrap stencil), die cut the dragonfly (Cheery Lynn), and added some bling. I removed the chain from the first altered coaster (bottom), put holes in the bottom of the top panel and hung the two panels together. I then moved the chail to the top panel. Now I have a longer, more interesting wall hanging that still fits in the narrow area I had originally planned to decorate.
