Today my card is a little steam-y...steampunk that is. I found a quote from Antoine de Saint- Exupery which I thought was appropriate to use here. "The machine does not isolate man from the great problems of nature, but plunges him more deeply into them. My card started with a panel of Steampunk word design paper from Graphic 45. I then cut a panel of transparent packing, colored it with alcohol inks, and dry embossed it. I attached the two panels by using brads in the corners. The die cut leaves and bicycle were cut from Cheery Lynn dies. The hat was off stamped over the typed quote.
This card is being entered into these challenges. SanDee & Amelie's Steampunk challenge -- transparency; Three Muses -- age of steam; Mark's Finest Papers Friends of Speedy challenge -- 3 or more brads; and Simon Says Monday Challenge -- transparent .

This Day
Wow, it's been ages since I played with the Bloggers Challenge. My long hospital stayed sure played havoc with my art creation. However, this week the challenge is quotes and here is my card. One thing about the time I spent in the hospital -- I had lots of time to think. My New Year resolution is to appreciate life a lot more and to be more aware of my health. This quote by Goethe says it all.
I based my layout on the Mojo Monday sketch challenge 327. I started with a background of designer paper. The quote is done in the chalkboard technique from Tim Holtz. The flowers and leaves are Cheery Lynn die cuts. I added a ribbon of lace.
I am also entering my card in these additional challenges: Word Art Wednesday which is anything goes; Friends of Speedy (MFP) which is New Year's resolution; Simple Salutations (MFP) which is a sentiment plus black/white; and Frilly & Funkie which is New Year's resolutions.

Life Measured
The first card I am sharing today is a CAS card. I stamped my daisies (Mark's Finest Papers) on the white card base. They were colored with distress markers. I then added Viva Decor glitter liner to the flower heads. Over that I sprinkles a little distress glitter. The sentiment is from Verses stamps.
My card was created for the challenges at Addicted to CAS -- glitter and Marks Finest Papers Friends of Speedy Challenge -- no design paper.

12 Tags of 2013 - March
I really enjoy working on Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2013. I usually learn a new technique and most often I get to use some stamp or die I haven't seen in ages. This is the March tag and the sparkly bunny is so adorable. I love the grass die cut too. Everything about this tag says Easter and spring. The metal flower stickpins painted with distress paints are so cool.
I will also be entering this tag into several other challenges. Hels at Ink on my Fingers Sunday Challenge wants to see something shiny. The monthly challenge at Artistic Stamper is tags. Creative Belli is looking for something Easter. Simon Says Stamp has an anything goes challenge. The Marks Finest Papers Friends of Speedy challenge is Easter.

Pretty Flowers
Today's card was influenced by the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday and the inspiration challenge at Mark's Finest Papers Friends of Speedy. My card also meets the challenge at SweetStamps which is embossing folder + die(s) + stamp [use all three] and the Ink on My Fingers Sunday challenge which is pretty things. I love the color palette on the inspiration piece. I focused on the teal and white and added the orange flowers which are in the background. The flower stamp is from SweetStamps. The sentiment is from Club Scrap. The die is from Spellbinders as is the M-bossibilities embossing folder. The flower die is from Cheery Lynn. I love it when challenges work together so well.

floral Tag
I had a little fun time this afternoon, so I thought I'd change up a little and work on a tag instead of a card. I started with a piece of kraft cardstock which I cut into a tag. Next I pulled out my Dylusions sprays and added color to the tag. I just received some new colors, so it was fun to try them out. I had to do a Tim Holtz on my Cuttlebug folder--I cut the top so that the tag would slip through. That way I could emboss the whole tag. I stamped a SweetStamp floral image on white cardstock and colored the image using distress markers. I used a Cheery Lynn die (Manon's Wedding Garland) as a frame for the flowers. I used their leaf edger die for the bottom edge. The letters are cut using a Tim Holtz die.
I am entering this tag into several challenges. Cheery Lynn Designs has the challenge frame it. Simon Says Stamp and Show wants us to get messy (using the sprays definitely qualifies.) SweetStamps wants to see romance. The Mark's Finest Papers Friends of Speedy challenge is to create a non-traditional Valentine. The Inspiration Journal challenge is to spread some L.O.V.E.
