12 Tags of 2015 -- June

Another month, another tag. My time hasn't allowed for a lot of creating, but at least I've got the Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2015 challenge  to keep me going. This is the June tag. It follows Tim's tag pretty faithfully. The plaid background is pretty cool up close. The iced latte is tempting me right now.

12 Tags of 2015 -- May

Happy Memorial Day to everyone. I finally got a chance to work in my studio, so I decided to work on the 12 Tags of 2015 challenge. I thought I'd give my tag a little Memorial Day flavor.  I thought that the image of the sailor was perfect for the day. I also love the sentiment "When nothing is sure, everything is possible."

12 Tags of 2015 April and March

Here is my version of the April tag for Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2015. I love this one. Tim's flowers are so pretty. I actually was able to get the background sprayed with the sprayer and the distress markers. WooHoo! There is nothing like a Tim tag to get my creative juices flowing.

As my blog shows I have been absent from my studio for quite a while. I'm fine. I just have extra "Nana duties" and no energy left over. I wasn't able to do my March tag in March, but I don't want to miss a month's tag, so I finished March too. I love the distress paint and tissue tape background.

Easter

March is racing by and Easter is right around the corner.  This little girl (SweetStamps) in her Easter bonnet holding the adorable little bunny says it all. The image is colored using watercolor pencils. My card background and the E-A-S-T-E-R letters are kraft cardstock. The grass, egg diecuts, and ovals are all cut from Cheery Lynn Design dies.
I am entering this card in the following challenges: Cheery Lynn Designs -- Easter; Simon Says Monday Challenge -- B is for ...(bunny, bonnet); Kraft Journal -- take your pick (green, bunny, die cut, white, yellow); and SweetStamps -- anything goes.

Lucky Green

March has finally arrived. Although we are still covered with snow here in Chicago, the weatherman is promising warmer temperatures in a couple of days. I sure hope he's right.
My card today, created with the Mojo Monday sketch in mind, celebrates St. Patrick's day. My card base uses kraft cardstock. The white background is dry embossed using a Tim Holtz background texture fade. The green panel and shamrocks are cut from glittery cardstock. The sentiment is one of the Tim Holtz stamps and is framed with glossy gold. The card is finished with a pearl embellishment that I have hoarded for a long, long time.
I am entering this card in these challenges: Mojo Monday -- sketch challenge; Simon Says Monday challenge -- just a hint of clover; Kraft Journal --St. Patrick's Day; Great Impressions -- go green; Art With Heart Challenge -- go green.

12 Tags of 2015 -- February and January

What do I do when my muse takes a vacation? ... I decide to work on tags for Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2015. For me this is a great muse booster. Here is my version of Tim's February tag.

Last month got away from me and I wasn't able to work on the January tag. While I was in tag mode this week I decided to work on January's tag. I have been keeping up with the monthly tags since the beginning, so I didn't want a void in my collection.

If I Had a Star...

It was love at first sight for this die from Heartfelt Creations (Spellbinders). I cut two of the diecuts from glossy red cardstock to use as my frame for the sentiment (Quietfire). This is my Valentine for my Sweetie. Even though the frame is quite ornate, it is really a CAS card. I love the bright glossy red against the white cardbase.
I am entering my card into these challenges: Bloggers Challenge -- love is in the air; Tuesday Throwdown -- love is in the air; City Crafter --you matter; Word Art Wednesday -- anything goes; Fashionable Stamping -- black, white, hint of red; Great Impressions - love, love, love; V's Sweet Ideas -- red, white, or pink; Dies R Us -- hearts.

Be Mine

This card was made for my grandson. I know he will love the crazy bird from Tim Holtz. Notice how the bird is checking out the Valentine heart. The background is a die from Spellbinders. I used distress stain to add some color. The card is a top fold card with a twine bow embellishing the top.
I am entering this card into these challenges: Kraft Journal -- take your pick (red, hearts, twine, top fold); Simon Says Wednesday Challenge -- all creatures great and small; Dies R Us -- hearts; Inspiration Emporium -- love is in the air.

Think Pink

It's that time of year when you get to wear your heart on your sleeve, or at least show them on your cards. Valentine's day is just around the corner. Today's card was made for a darling four year old who just happens to be my granddaughter. It's safe to publish it since she has no access to my blog or Facebook. She loves fairies and pink is her favorite color. So this card is a perfect match. The base card is white cardstock. The pink background panel is a background die. I cut the heart and embossed it with a candy hearts folder. the adorable fairy die cut uses a Cheery Lynn Designs die. The hugs and kisses stamp is from Quietfire stamps.
I am entering this card into the following challenges: Cheery Lynn Designs -- tickled pink; SweetStamps -- pink, white, and one other color; Marks Finest Papers Friends of Speedy -- die cuts or punched items; Dies R Us --hearts; Mixed Media Monthly -- think pink.

Sweetheart

Love is in the air. Doesn't this couple from Tim's found relatives look happy! I think the heart (Cheery Lynn Designs) and music background (Tim Holtz Paper Stash) emphasize the love. The sentiment (Quietfire) is framed by a stencil arrow (Tim Holtz).
I am entering this card in these challenges: Cheery Lynn Designs -- sweet hearts; SweetStamps -- heart; Simon Says Wednesday challenge -- have a heart; and A Vintage Journey -- use a portrait.

Snowmen

This card is quite appropriate for today. Although the snow isn't really deep here in Chicago, it has covered everything outside. It's the time that snowmen start to appear.
It's also the time of year where many challenges want to see something "new" for the New Year. Since I didn't receive any new art products over the holidays, I decided to take this opportunity to try out a couple of my never-before-used products (ie. new to me). The background panel was done on a gelli plate. Not too long ago I ordered the smallest gelli plates, but I never got a chance to use them. For this card I used the 5"x 7" plate. I love the fact that it fits nicely in the tiny space I have on my table for working. The other new item is the snowflake border die (Cheery Lynn). There's also a little something old on the card. The snowflakes on the background were stenciled with Ranger's metallic pearl dabber paint. That's been around (and unused) for quite a while. The snowman stamp (Tim Holtz) and the sentiment stamp (can't remember) have been in my collection for a long time.
My card layout is based on the sketch challenge from Mojo Monday. I am also entering my card in these challenges: Kraft Journal--take your pick (die cut, white, snowman); Simon Says Wednesday -- something new; Frilly & Funkie -- anything goes; Dies R Us -- something new; Artistic Stamper -- new beginnings; Great Impressions -- snow friends; Mixed Media -- something new for the New Year; V's Sweet Ideas -- something new; Ink on My Fingers -- anything goes; Cheery Lynn Designs -- snowflakes.
