Bloggers Challenge 152

Another week, another challenge, and another story. This week's Bloggers Challenge is a sketch. Again, this is a card which has various effects which are lost by scanning.
I chose this stamp image by circumstance this time. My daughter was looking for a craft project that she could demonstrate to a group and asked me for help. I had some scratch board I had found at a stamp flea market. Since it was something that didn't require carrying a lot of supplies and was relatively easy, it seemed like the perfect solution. I used this peacock image and demonstrated the technique to her. I stamped it with white Staz-on on the black scratchboard and began scratching the details. When starting to work on my challenge card, I decided that this peacock was the perfect image for this sketch, so I finished scratching it. The peacock image is from I Brake for Stamps and is one of my favorites. Of course, the scan doesn't really show that the image was scratched out, but it's cool to see in real life. The image of white on black needed a strong background. What appears to be a white background is actually a white holographic Shimmer Sheetz. In different light it shimmers rainbow-like colors. I dry embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder. The red papers are from my Club Scrap stash. The three grommets along the side are highlighted with red Stickles.
The Bloggers Challenge always has lots of beautiful art to see. Click on the Bloggers Challenge box on my sidebar to see what the others have done.

The embossing is perfect for this card and the peacock looks fab stamped in white on the dark cardstock. I don't normally like the peacock, but he rocks done this way!
