This week the challenge at
Play Date Cafe went bonkers. The theme was
colour horribilis and the colors were hot pink, navy blue, and mustard. Now that was a challenge, but a fun one. I decided to put Tim Holtz to the test. He always says that his distress inks can be used together in any combination, so I took mustard and pink lipstick distress inks and applied them to a small tag. Hmmm, kinda cool. I then stamped one of his atc stamps for the focal image in Club Scrap blue sapphire (as close to navy as I could get). I added a few distress stamps in black to add dimension. The background was stamped in the blue sapphire using a portion of a very large Bugawumps stamp. The rest of the embellishments and fibers were used for additional interest. I think the result is unique, but definitely not "horribilis".
